Joe Jackson, father of the late pop star Michael Jackson, has been granted a hearing on October 6 to attempt to remove the executors of his son's estate. The older Jackson, who was not named in his son's will, is expected to argue that he should have a say in the potential executors of his son's estate because he was financially dependent on his son Michael. He has therefore requested the removal of the currently-named executors.

He has therefore requested the removal of the currently-named executors - Michael Jackson's attorney John Branca and music executive and family friend John McClain.

Said his attorney Brian Oxman, "I think it's an important issue for all fathers around the country and around the world that when their child dies they should have a say-so in their child's estate."

Meanwhile, lawyers for the estate stressed that all obligations to named beneficiaries are being met, with attorney Howard Weitzman dismissing Jackson's claims, "As I've said before, Mr. Jackson's appeal is not well taken."

Jackson is currently pursuing a wrongful death suit against his son's doctor, Conrad Murray, who is accused of administering the lethal dose of Propofol responsible for the King of Pop's death.

Former U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair says he thinks U2 frontman Bono could lead a country. On page 555 of his newly-published memoir, A Journey, Blair says that Bono has the makings to be a prime minister or president. "[Bono] could have been a president or prime minister standing on his head," Blair writes. "He had an absolutely natural gift for politicking, was great with people, very smart and an inspirational speaker."

He notes his admiration for the pop star's ability to cross political lines: "I knew he would work with George [W. Bush] well, and with none of the prissy disdain of most of his ilk. [Bono] could have been a president or prime minister standing on his head."

Blair adds, "He had an absolutely natural gift for politicking, was great with people, very smart and an inspirational speaker."

Blair also notes his admiration of Bono's ability to enter political debates on world hunger and war, as well as his ability to influence world leaders such as Bill Clinton, George Bush, African leaders, and Blair himself.

Taylor Swift was offered a song and an apology from Kanye West, who notoriously interrupted her acceptance speech at last year's MTV Video Music Awards ceremony. West apologized for the incident on Twitter, saying, "It is distasteful to cut people off as a general rule." He then explained, "I wrote a song for Taylor Swift that's so beautiful and I want her to have it." He added, "If she won't take it then I'll perform it for her."

Swift's third album, Speak Now, is slated for release on October 25. The album features 14 songs written by Swift. The first single, "Mine," was released on August 4 after it was leaked online and debuted at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.
