Furtado's last English offering was 2006's Loose, which featured the number one hits "Say It Right" and "Promiscuous."

As for her new songs, "Free" was produced by Salaam Remi and has a dance sound that is reminiscent of previous hits such as "Maneater." "Girlfriend In the City" is more organic in nature and contains string-based production.

Furtado has already confirmed a collaboration with Timbaland, and there are also rumors she will be hooking up with Ryan Tedder, who produced "Halo" for Beyoncé and "Already Gone" for Kelly Clarkson.

This makes her the first solo female act to top the chart since Ke$ha hit number one with Animal back in January. Teenage Dream, which sold 192,222 units in its first week of release, also debuted at number one on the Digital Albums chart and the Canadian Albums Chart.

Teenage Dream features production from Max Martin, Dr. Luke, Tricky Stewart and Benny Blanco, with Perry writing or co-writing all 12 songs.

"California Gurls" is currently nominated for two MTV Video Music Awards in the categories of Best Female Video and Best Pop Video.

T.I. has been arrested on drug charges after he and his wife, Tameka Cottle, were reportedly caught with marijuana in their car at a West Hollywood traffic stop. The Atlanta rapper completed a prison term on federal weapons charges on March 26 and is currently on probation. Police reportedly smelled marijuana coming from the couple's vehicle as they approached the stop. After a brief investigation, T.I. and Cottle were taken into custody. A judge set their bail at $10,000 each.

Ever since the band went their separate ways in 2004, the members have been working hard collaborating with other artists, some of them even creating other bands. According to the DeLonge, however, that doesn't get them down.

DeLonge continued on to explain that the band's follow up to their self-titled 2003 release would sound like.

"The record will be very modern, relevant, fast and fun," he said. "It'll be a mixture of drum'n'bass, indie rock and stadium rock."

The band is currently on tour in the U.K. and Europe.

Usher has offered up a remix of his current single "Hot Tottie," which features both Lil' Kim and Jay-Z. On the track, Kim sings: "The Queen Hot Tottie/don't compare me to nobody," as she compares herself to a Bugatti and Maserati. The track was produced by Polow Da Don, while the background vocals are provided by Ester Dean. Ciara was originally confirmed for an appearance on the track but her vocals did not make the final version.

In a recent interview with MTV, Young Money president Mack Maine says that fans would love to hear another Drake album this year and that he works fast enough to give it to them. "Drake's crazy. He's doing a mixtape right now . . . and this mixtape, he's gonna put that out quick . . . he works fast."

Though Drake's official debut album Thank Me Later just hit stores this spring, the Canadian MC may be ready to release a new mix tape by the end of the year.

In a recent interview with MTV, Young Money president Mack Maine says that fans would love to hear another Drake album this year and that he works fast enough to give it to them.

"Drake's crazy. He's doing a mixtape right now. He called me one night, like two in the morning. He has the intro done for the new album. We was discussing dates where he should come back - that'll be soon," Maine tells MTV.

"And this mixtape, he's gonna put that out quick. His formula is crazy. He works fast. I can't give the secret away to the formula. He's a musical genius. The way he and [producer] 40 put things together is crazy."

As for dropping the tape before the close of 2010, Maine says that it's been done before and that they'd like to strike while the iron is hot.

"It makes sense," Maine adds. "Like DMX and those guys [at Def Jam]. They dropped two in one year. I think 50 [Cent] did two in one year If it wasn't a year, it was right around that time. [Drake's] hot like that. Why not? Give them what they want."
