Florida-based rockers We the Kings are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the band’s self-titled debut by launching a 35-plus city tour of the U.S. that features the band playing the album in its entirety. The record features the breakthrough single, ‘Check Yes, Juliet,’ which was an iTunes Single of the Week in early 2008, and peaked in the Top 25 of the Billboard Top 40/Pop Songs chart. Other standout tracks include ‘Skyway Avenue’ and the Top 40/Pop Songs favorite, ‘Secret Valentine.’ We the Kings peaked at No. 3 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers Albums chart and got to No. 151 on the Billboard 200. Sales of more than 75,000 copies in Australia also earned the album platinum sales status there.

“Press play and let nostalgia kick in, reminding you of the exact time you heard your first We The Kings song … now add every other song from our first album and boom that’s a party,” declares lead singer Travis Clark in a news release. “This is going to be some of the best and most fun shows we’ve ever played and we can’t wait to see everyone who comes out for a night unlike anything we’ve ever done before. Start studying our first album because we’re playing every single song off of it,” says Clark.

Following the success of the platinum-selling ‘Check Yes, Juliet,’ Bradenton, Fla., high school friends Clark (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboards); Hunter Thomsen (lead guitar, backing vocals); Danny Duncan (drums, percussion); and Drew Thomsen (bass) found gold with ‘Say You Like Me’ from 2011’s Sunshine State of Mind. The group’s third studio album became its first to get inside the Top 50 of the Billboard 200, and Top 10 of the Billboard rock and alternative album charts.

“It’s just going to be really cool,” Clark tells AltPress.com regarding the album tour. “That’s something that’s both nostalgic for us and for people like you who actually had that record and for the fans that have been with us the longest just to be able to go and hear every song. There are songs that we literally have only played two or three times in our entire career that we’ll have to play over the course of an entire tour, so I know that that’s something that’s really special to us,” says the singer and guitarist.

We The Kings have released five albums since their self-titled debut. In 2016, We the Kings released a compilation album titled, So Far, via S-Curve Records. The track list includes a “unique version” of ‘The Story of Tonight’ from the award-winning musical, “Hamilton.” There’s also a re-release of ‘Sad Song’ featuring Elena Coats, which is currently No. 39 on the Mediabase Hot AC airplay chart.

The 10th anniversary celebration featuring We the Kings performing their self-titled debut in its entirety kicks off Feb. 17 in Nashville. * We the Kings are a melodic emo pop band from Bradenton, Fla., where high school friends Travis Clark (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboards); Hunter Thomsen (lead guitar, backing vocals); his brother Drew Thomsen (bass); and Danny Duncan (drums, percussion); and formed the group in 2006.

* In 2007, the band generated buzz by uploading several songs on the social networking site, PureVolume, and got a deal with EMI's S-Curve Records imprint. The self-titled We the Kings' debut album was produced by Sam Hollander and appeared in October 2007.

* The single ‘Check Yes, Juliet,’ cracked the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 70 and got to No. 32 on the Mainstream Top 40/Pop Songs chart. The group spent most of the next two years on the road, returning in 2009 with sophomore album, Smile Kid.

* Pop star Demi Lovato was featured on the Smile Kid single, ‘We'll Be A Dream,’ which was another Hot 100 (No. 76) and Top 40/Pop Songs (No. 23) entry. The song was also nominated “Choice Hook Up” at the 2010 Teen Choice Awards.

* Work on third album, Sunshine State of Mind, was completed in July 2011 as We the Kings started to incorporate pop and hip-hop influences into their sound. It also marked the departure of Drew Thomsen, who was replaced on bass by Charles Trippy.

* Keyboards player and rhythm guitarist Coley O'Toole was also added to the band as We the Kings began recording fourth album, Somewhere Somehow, which was released in late 2013. The band's evolving sound was expanded further in 2015 on Strange Love, featuring radio-friendly hip-hop and dance elements.
